Audition

What: Auditions for new members: Previous choral or solo experience is required.

When: Monday, August 16, 2010, 7:30pm

Where: Cal Poly Music Department, Room 218 (located next to the Performing Arts Center). Procedure:

• Set up an audition time: Call the Cuesta Music Department at (805) 546-3195 to set a time.
• Please prepare a solo piece. Please bring a copy of the music for the accompanist (very important!). Repertoire can be anything from (1) a hymn or folk song, (2) a Musical Theater piece, (3) a classical song or aria. Other musical skills may be tested:
  1. Ability to read rhythmic notation accurately.
  2. Ability to sing back a short melody played on the piano.
  3. Vocal agility: the ability to sing fast notes cleanly and accurately.
